Haifa and the North

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Haifa and the North is the home of businesses, industries and service providers in Haifa and the North. The Chamber was established in 1921 and comprises more than 1,000 companies and businesses.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Haifa and the North is a Society whose objects are:
- Development, promotion and the encouragement of commerce, foreign trade, services, industry and other economic branches in Israel in general, and in the Haifa region and the North in particular, representing the interest of members of the Chamber and of the economic branches in which the members of the Chamber engage, in the spirit of the Chamber's principles.
- Representing its members in their branches in matters relating to the economy and economics.
- Promoting the economic interest of the Haifa region and the North.
The Chamber's basic principles are economic freedom and free enterprise
The Chamber of Commerce enables its members to receive a range of services to advance their businesses: the development of business contacts in Israel and abroad, encouraging networking – networking businesses between members of the Chamber and other members, consulting services and guidance in labor relations, foreign trade, municipal licensing and taxation, and a large range of other business subjects. With the assistance of the Chamber, it is possible to obtain foreign trade documents, such as certificates of origin and approvals, the production of bills of entries and export entries, and A.T.A. Carnet booklets.
A Business College operates in the framework of the Chamber, which enables further studies and training on subject contributing to business, such as purchasing and logistics, management, marketing, finance and sales, foreign trade and foreign languages.
The Chamber's management comprises 20 members, who are democratically chosen by the general meeting. The Chamber is headed by the President of the Chamber, Mr. Gad Shefer, assisted by an Executive Committee.
The Chamber operates the Israel Shippers Council, an organization which represents cargo owners in Israel who ship their cargoes.
